Get Google Websites with Google Sites

Google Websites is Google’s way of creating your own personal web site. Although not as easy to use as Google Page Creator, it is a great online website builder. Google Webmaster Tools offers some tools that are not Google Page Creator. Once you get used to using Google websites, you will like your website like this.

Great websites offer the ability to organize the web pages of your website into categories. For example, if you have a bunch of pages about all your favorite baseball players, you can put them all in one category. Makes it easy to find later when you want to edit them.

You’ll also find out who can see and who can edit your Google Web site. If you create a website for your group or family, you should not be the only one who can edit the website. Allow other people too. Maybe you can update the calendar and someone else to update the current events.

Also, only members of your site can see your website. If you want to create a private website where only certain people can see and participate in it, you can do it with Google Sites. Only allow people who are able to see your website.

If you like all Google offers, Google allows websites to embed all of your Google tools into your website. Integrate your Google Calendar and your Google Pages into your web pages. You can add things like videos to any of your web site web pages.

On the next page, you will need to fill in some stuff.

What do you want your website to be called? Don’t just call it Joe’s website, give it a unique name that people will have to read it.

URL Address – Make it easy to remember the address of your website so that your friends can easily find it, even if they lost the bookmark.

Site Description – Tell us a little bit about you and your website. Describe the people who come to your site, they will find it as they browse and read.

Adult content? – If your site contains only adult content, then you need to click on this option.

Who to share with – Make your site public around the world, or enable only the people you choose to see.

Choose a theme for your Google Sites website

Google Sites offers many themes that you can use to personalize your website. The theme adds color and personality to your website. A theme can make or break your website so choose what your site is about and be careful. Hopefully, Google will add some more themes later on for a better user experience.

Some of the themes offered by Google Sites are simple, just colors. If this error persists, contact our helpdesk.

There are other themes that are much better for a personal website. Looks like it would be great for a kid’s website entirely with clouds and grass. There is another that just shines. Look through the themes of these Google sites and select the ones in which you think your website is represented.

Launch your first Google Sites page

 

Google Once you have chosen your theme and set up your website, you are ready to start building your homepage. Click “Edit Page” to get started.

Give your homepage a name and then tell your readers what your site is all about. Let them know what they will find on your site and what your site has to offer them.

If you want your text to be ignored on the page, you can do so using any of the tools in the Google Sites toolbar. You can do these things in the text on your web page:

Change the font style

Resize the font

Make your text bold, Italian or arranged

Change the font color

Highlight text

Include links anywhere on the web

Include numbered or built-in lists

Entry

Right, center or left straight

When you click “Save” on your first Google Sites webpage, it disappears. The way to find the way to copy the web address of your readers page is found in the address bar of your browser. Sign out of Google. Now paste in the address bar again and again and enter it on your keyboard.
