The Vice President of India, Mr. M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the second ‘Khelo India University Games 2021’ on Sunday at the Sri Kanti Rao Indoor Stadium in Bangalore. Karnataka Governor Thavar Chand Gehlot, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Basuraj Bomai, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmalasita Raman, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur and Youth Affairs and Sports The Minister of State in the Ministry of Jumping, Mr. Nasda Parmanak, will be the special guest on the occasion. More than 2,500 people, including representatives from across the country, will be in the stadium to watch a cultural program specially designed to reflect Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage. Government of Karnataka and Sports Authority of India
With the unique support of the Government of Karnataka and the Sports Authority of India, the ‘Khelo India University Games 2021’, organized by Jain University, will be India’s largest sports event and will be the first overall partnership competition since the epidemic. The epidemic broke out only after the initial edition of these games was over in Bhubaneswar.
Through the Play India University Games 2021 (KIUG 2021), the Karnataka government is focusing on important issues such as environmental sustainability. Everything used in these games outside the playground will be made of reusable material. Electric vehicles will be used to transport athletes and waste everywhere will be segregated as wet and dry waste. KIUG 2021 will really be a green game.
Around 3,879 athletes from more than 200 universities in 20 different categories, including national sports such as Malkhamb and Yogasan, will take part in it. Athletics and basketball will be hosted at the Kanti Rao Stadium Complex, while shooting will be held at the Sai Complex and hockey competitions will be held at the Kripa Stadium. All other programs will be on the Jane Educational Institute campus.
More than 8,000 participants, coaches and officers participating in KIUG 2021 have access to the first-of-its-kind mobile app for any information regarding competitions. The One Stop app will include, among other details, important information about accommodation, food, transport service, emergency liaison, maps to reach various locations and sports.
Commenting on the inaugural function, the Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports of the Karnataka Government, Mr. KC Narayan Gowda said, “All preparations have been completed for the inaugural function to be held on Sunday. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has arrived in Bangalore this morning. ”

The Karnataka government has made special arrangements for the participants in the Play India University Games 2021. Under this, athletes are allowed to take their sports equipment in the Bangalore Metro when they travel to the competition venue from their residence.
The state government has also tried to link the entire city of Bangalore with the Play India University Games 2021 by erecting hoardings at important places in the city. Participants will enter the KIUG environment from the moment they exit the railway and bus stations, as the billboards for the Play India University Games 2021 await their welcome.
