Kolkata and Ahmedabad will host the IPL play-offs
The playoff round of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, it was announced after a meeting of the Apex Council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
According to the details, Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on May 24 and 25, while Eliminator 2 and Final will be held on May 27 and 29 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Both venues hosted the White Ball series between India and the West Indies in February. The ODI series was played behind closed doors in Ahmedabad, while the BCCI allowed 75 per cent crowds for the T20 league in Kolkata. Was
BCCI President Soro Ganguly said that as far as the knockout stage matches of the IPL are concerned, they will be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, which will be played after the end of the league stage on May 22. 100% attendance will be allowed for the matches.
In addition, the Apex Council has confirmed that the Women’s Twenty20 Challenge will be held in Lucknow.
The three-team Women’s T20 Challenge, which includes Trail Blazers, Supernovas and Velocity, has been allotted to the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and will be held from May 24 to 28 in Lucknow. The squad will be selected following the Women’s Twenty20 Trophy in May.
